Orlando Pirates will be looking to get their season back on track when they travel to Polokwane to take on Black Leopards at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night.

The build-up to the clash has not been without its fair share of controversy, thanks to some uncertainty over the match venue.

In a bid to bring PSL action back to their traditional stronghold, the Thohoyandou Stadium, the hosts had applied to have the fixture moved there, and rushed to announce that the application had been successful, to their fans delight.

However, Lidoda Duvha were soon forced to backtrack as the League’s executive committee had ruled that the venue was still unfit to host the fixture, which will be held at Peter Mokaba as originally planned.

Teams

On the football side of things, the Limpopo outfit will be satisfied with their return to the top flight so far, as they are yet to taste defeat, picking up five points in their three matches.

They sit sixth on the log, three places ahead of their ninth-placed opponents, who will be determined to walk back home with all three points in what has been an indifferent start to the season.

The Soweto giants have lost their last three matches in all competitions, and have managed just two goals in four matches, one from the penalty spot, and the other coming off the boot of an opposition player.

Black Leopards vs Orlando Pirates: Head to head

Black Leopards have made a return to the PSL after half a decade out in the wilderness, and will not have the fondest of memories of their last meeting with Orlando Pirates, where they fell to a 4-1 defeat.

The last four encounters between these two sides have all been won by the Soweto giants, who have also registered a convincing 4-0 win away at Thohoyandou Stadium.
