Friday sees the beginning of a rather frantic weekend of PSL action as all top flight clubs are on league duty over the next three days.

While Saturday’s big clash, the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates dominates the headlines, the weekend’s action kicks off with three fixtures on Friday with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns the first to take the field as the Absa Premiership heads to its business end.

AmaZulu v Sundowns, King Zwelithini Stadium – 18:00

Sundowns will be out for revenge when they travel down to KZN to take on AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium. The reverse fixture ended in a shock defeat for the log leaders as goals from Usuthu’s veteran pair of strikers, 40-year old Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhuti Khenyeza (34) ensured that they walk away 2-1 victors at Loftus Versfeld.

Bidvest Wits v Baroka, Bidvest Stadium – 20:00

Defending champions Bidvest Wits will be keen to carry on with their resurgent form when they host Baroka at Bidvest Stadium on Friday night. Having spent most of the season in the red zone, Gavin Hunt’s men have finally made a surge into the top half of the table and will be hoping to stay there by clinching victory against a side on a high after a crucial win against Cape Town City on Tuesday.

Cape Town City v Chippa United, Athlone Stadium – 20:00

City host Chippa United at Athlone Stadium aiming to break a horrid spell which has seen them lose their last four outings. The Chili Boys also suffered a defeat in their last outing, going down 4-2 at home to Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
