As is custom at the Masters, golfing greats Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player got the tournament under way as Honorary Starters on Thursday.

Under dark and rainy skies, Nicklaus, 80, and Player, 85, took to the first tee to hit ceremonial drives.

Whether they found the fairway – or rough – we’ll never know …

Nicklaus is a six-time Masters winner, while Player, South Africa’s greatest ever sportsman, has donned the famed green jacket on three occasions.
