Kaizer Chiefs will have to quickly get over the disappointment of their midweek result and focus on the big task at hand as they prepare to host Supersport United in the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final tie at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The Soweto giants blew a two-goal lead on Wednesday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Bloemfontein Celtic at the same venue.

This was an identical result to what they achieved in the first leg against the defending champions, which the happier of the two sides going into Saturday’s clash, as two away goals put them in good stead, should they be held to another draw – with fewer goals – at home.

Supersport, on the other hand, will be looking to carry their winning momentum to this all to crucial encounter, following their 2-1 victory over the struggling Chippa United last night.

The win was their third on the trot in league action, with the first-leg draw the only blemish in an almost perfect run of five matches in all competition.

As was the case in the first leg, recent clashes between these two sides have tended to end in draws, as only one match has been decided in 90 minutes in their last four encounters. Supersport United are the most recent victors in this period, having beaten Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 when they met 12 months ago.

It was also the Pretoria outfit who last triumphed in cup competition, winning on penalties in last season’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
