Mamelodi Sundowns reach CAF Women’s Champions League final

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have reached their second successive CAF Women’s Champions League final after beating Simba Queens 1-0 on Wednesday.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have reached their second successive CAF Women’s Champions League final after beating Simba Queens 1-0 on Wednesday.

Boitumelo Rabale scored the only goal of the game as Jerry Tshabalala’s charges maintained their 100 percent win record in this year’s competition.

Sundowns went into this encounter as strong favourites to win the match but they knew Simba Queens would not be a walk in the park.

After tough first half which ended in a goalless draw, Sundowns managed the game better in the second half, and dominated possession.

The touches leading up to the goal in the 75th minute were just silky as Simba Queens chased shadows in their own before Rabale netted a stunner from outside the box.

Sundowns will face Moroccan giants ASFAR in the final after the hosts beat Nigerian outfit Bayelsa Queens 1-0 in the other semi-final.
