During Saturday nights Champions League final, Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius effectively lost his tea, the game. Two unbelievable mistakes left the world utterly stunned. For some fans, though, the anger towards Karius ventured into a rather violent area.

With the final score on the night ending 3-1 to Real Madrid, Liverpool fans had a lot to deal with after losing Mo Salah to a collarbone injury before half-time. With an already weakened side left with a sizeable task, Karius stepped in for mistake number one.

After collecting the ball and attempting to throw it out to a defender, Karius managed to roll it off of Karima Benzema. Benzema pounced and scored, even though he was the only player in the box with Karius.

Liverpool managed to get back into the game through Sadio Mane until Gareth Bale put the Spanish side back ahead through a truly glorious bicycle kick.

Liverpool may have wanted to get back into the game but Karius managed to let a long range shot (that he attempted to catch) slip straight through his hands.

The goalkeeper said he felt that he cost his team the game. Despite his apology, fans took to Twitter to send the gloveman death threats.

“Today I lost my team the game and I feel sorry for everyone. I’m sorry for everyone – from the team, from the whole club – that the mistakes cost dearly. If I could go back in time, I would. I feel sorry for my team. I know I let them down today,” he said after the game.

While we won’t include those here, there were also Tweets from fans calling for the death of the goalkeeper’s family members – including the death of his young children.
