The last Super Rugby fixture you will see for a while takes place at GIO Stadium in Canberra, and features the Brumbies and the Waratahs.

The Aussie derby closes the tournament for the foreseeable future after the organisers halted the competition in the wake of the deadly coronavirus.

The hosts lead the Australian Conference having won four of their five matches, while the Waratahs have had a tough time of it this season, managing a single victory.

Despite being one of oldest club’s operating in South Africa’s top-flight league, Bloemfontein have lifted this particular trophy just once, back when it was called the Mainstay Cup in 1985. They take on first-division outfit TS Sporting at KaNyamazane Stadium in Sunday’s only Nedbank Cup fixture.

Super Rugby

The Sharks will head into the break as the top team in the overall standings after beating the Stormers at Kings Park on Saturday.

The other two South African teams in action over the weekend had disappointing outings, with the Lions losing 43-10 away to the Blues, while the Bulls squandered a 17-point lead to come out at the wrong end of a 41-17 defeat to the Reds in Brisbane.

Nedbank Cup results

Three teams have claimed spots in the Nedbank Cup semifinals, with Mamelodi Sundowns the last to do so after claiming a 1-0 win over Highlands Park, with the match heading into extra time.

There was an identical scoreline in the Limpopo derby, with Baroka booking a spot in the last four at Black Leopards expense, while 2010 champs Bidvest Wits found it a lot easier in front of goal as they thumped first division outfit Real Kings 4-0 on Friday.
