The World Series Sevens returns this weekend with teams travelling to Las Vegas for what should be a pretty entertaining weekend of action.

Despite a few little wobbles, the Blitzboks remain at the top of the World Series Sevens standings, but have been drawn in a tough pool for this weekend’s action.

They face England, Wales and Canada in the pool rounds – all who could be potential bogey teams.

The time difference between South Africa and Las Vegas is pretty horrendous, so unless you’re coming from a night out – that wake-up call is going to be tough. The times for the Blitzboks fixtures in Las Vegas are listed below – all times are SAST.

The group stages will begin on 3 March (Saturday morning) and will be completed on 4 March (Sunday morning).

The final will be played at 2:30 on 5 March (Monday morning).

Branco du Preez has called this leg of the World Series one of his favourites.

“This is one of my favourite tournaments, no doubt,” admitted Du Preez, who has been part of three tournament-winning squads at this venue.

“I like the fact that the pitch is slightly smaller and play a bit more direct. We have done well in the past and I am determined to contribute to another successful effort.”
