Siya Kolisi has thanked the players participating in the SA20 tournament for the entertainment and joy they bringing to South Africans during a challenging time in country.

The Springbok captain was invited to join the Paarl Royals and during his visit spoke about the difference sport can make in people’s lives, praised the success of the tournament so far and thanked the Paarl Royals for giving people something to smile about.

He also urged the foreign players in the squad to enjoy the beauty on offer in South Africa.

Kolisi is originally from Port Elizabeth, but spent his first stint in senior rugby at the Stormers before joining the Sharks in 2021.

It has since been confirmed that Kolisi will join French giants Racing 92 after the World Cup later this year. He is believed to have signed a lucrative multi-million rand deal with Racing.

Meanwhile in SA20 news, the “Catch a Million” prize money has been doubled

SA20 organisers has announced that the ‘Catch a Million’ prize money has officially been doubled to a staggering R2 Million. 

The announcement sees the campaign being re-branded to from the “Catch a million’ to “Catch R2 Million” and guarantees fans over the age of 18 a unique opportunity to win a share of R2 million should they make a clean one-handed catch off a six in any of the ongoing SA20 matches.

SA20 has assembled some of the world’s best batters to partake in the league, thus significantly increasing the chances of fans in the stands at the life-changing grab.

In the statement released on Tuesday, it read that tournament wants to use the power of sport to bring excitement and a positive change.

“The SA20 is an exciting competition that allows us to engage with our customers in a unique and exciting way. We are absolutely thrilled with how the tournament has gone so far and with us doubling the prize money to R2 million, we hope to see even more fans making their way to the stadiums and being a part of the excitement of the tournament.”
