Kaizer Chiefs will get a bit of a reprieve between fixtures with their league encounter against AmaZulu shifted back another 24 hours, due to their commitments in the Caf Confederations Cup.

The Glamour Boys were scheduled to meet Usuthu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday, 15 January, but the fixture has been moved to the following day, with the kick-off time remaining unchanged.

The change was made because they are set to take on Zambian outfit, ZESCO United at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 13 January.

Kaizer Chiefs issued out a statement on their website confirming the rescheduling.

“Please be advised of the date change affecting the Absa Premiership fixture between AmaZulu against Kaizer Chiefs. Originally, Amakhosi were scheduled to visit Usuthu on Tuesday, 15 January 2019. The new date is set for Wednesday, 16 January at the same venue, King Zwelithini Stadium.

“The game was moved a day due to Chiefs’ CAF Confederation Cup game in Zambia on Sunday, 13 January. Kick-off remains unchanged at 19:30.”

Busy start to the new year for Kaizer Chiefs

Having kicked 2019 off with a setback – losing 2-1 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns – Kaizer Chiefs are back in league action on Wednesday night, facing another formidable opponent in log leaders, Bidvest Wits.

They follow that up with the trip to Zambia, before trekking down to Durban to play an AmaZulu side that has proven to be a tricky opponent for the PSL’s big guns, before hosting ZESCO United next Friday.

Amakhosi kick off their Nedbank Cup campaign against lower league side Tornado, before two big league fixtures early in February, starting with a home game against Cape Town City, which is followed by another Soweto Derby against bitter foes, Orlando Pirates.

Chiefs are currently eighth on the log, having collected just 21 points in 16 games.

Kick off against Wits is at 19:30.
