South Africa’s premier weight-for-age mile, the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, will be held at Kenilworth racecourse on Saturday, 8 January.

The 161st renewal of the Grade 1 Queen’s Plate will be held on what will be Day 2 of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Festival.

A total of 14 entries, headed by defending champion Jet Dark and dual Met winner Rainbow Bridge have been received for the R1.5 million race.

The star-studded line-up also includes reigning Durban July winner Kommetdieding, dual Grade 1 winner Linebacker and recent Cape Guineas runner-up, Pomp And Power.
