The 2022 Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July at Hollywoodbets Greyville will take place in just 24 days’ time.

This year’s race, to be contested over 2 200m, will be the 126th renewal of the annual event which was first contested in 1897.

As it currently stands ahead of final declarations, 40 horses remain in contention to make the final 20 horse (18 starters, two reserves) field.

Of those, two are previous winners: defending champion Kommetdieding and two-time victor Do It Again.

The race weights will be published on Tuesday, 14 June and the final field announcement – and the all-important barrier draw – will take place on Tuesday, 21 June.
