Charles Dickens faces Justin Snaith army in Cape Derby

According to the Sporting Post website, the Cape Derby class of 2023 was announced on Wednesday and is headed by the Hollywoodbets Grade 1 Cape Guineas winner Charles Dickens.
The formidable opposition includes a seven strong challenge to be saddled by defending champion trainer Justin Snaith, who won the race in 2022 with the enigmatically talented chestnut, Pomp And Power.

Eleven horses will take to the gates in a race that’s due off at 16:15.

The winner will take home R890 625, second place is worth R285 000, third a handsome R142 500, fourth is worth R71 250 and fifth R35 625.
