Big-hitting American Bryson DeChambeau has been a revelation the last 12 months with his exploits off the tee in particular.

The “Mad Scientist” as he’s known, has taken driving the ball to new heights – and distances – in recent times.

While Bryson DeChambeau was on the range recently, @golftv invited him to attempt the 1 000-yard challenge which gives participants three balls to achieve over 1 000 cumulative yards.

Spoiler alert!

No surprise that DeChambeau managed the feat with ease, but perhaps a little surprising that he only just made it to the top of the leaderboard, nudging a couple of South Africans down to second and third.

DeChambeau will defend his US Open title at Torrey Pines in California from 17-20 June.
