Tiger Woods admitted he wonders each time he plays the Masters if it’s his last competing at Augusta National, where he has won five of his 15 major titles.

“I don’t know how many more I have in me,” Woods said.

“So just (have) to be able to appreciate the time I have here and cherish the memories.”

Woods still struggles with walking after suffering severe leg injuries in a 2021 car crash and the undulating layout of Augusta National offers a stern stroll under the Georgia pines.

Woods made his competitive comeback at last year’s Masters, when he shared 47th but achieved a major feat simply by finishing 72 holes.

Meanwhile, Augusta National revealed the pairings for Round 1 of the 2023 Masters starting on Thursday, 6 April.

As reported by The South African website, there will only be THREE South Africans in the 88-man field this year.

Those players are Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen and amateur Aldrich Potgieter.

Gary Player will once again be one of three honorary starters along with Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson.

Louis Oosthuizen will be joined in Round 1 by Adrian Meronk of Poland and American Kevin Kisner at 14:48 (SA time).

Schwartzel and Potgieter have been paired together along with American Taylor Moore at 17:18 (SA time).

Potgieter is one of seven amateurs in the field.

Woods will begin his quest for sixth green jacket at 16:18 (SA time) alongside compatriot Xander Schauffele and Norway’s Viktor Hovland.
