Masters 2023: Round 1 tee-times for the 3 South Africans

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler will be joined by fifth-ranked Max Homa while world number two Rory McIlroy opens alongside Tom Kim and Sam Burns when the 87th Masters begins on Thursday, 6 April.

Augusta National revealed the pairings with no shocking moves involving LIV Golf players, who were scattered among the field alongside PGA Tour rivals.

As reported by The South African website, there will only be THREE South Africans in the 88-man field this year.

Those players are Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen and amateur Aldrich Potgieter.

Gary Player will once again be one of three honorary starters along with Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson.

Louis Oosthuizen will be joined in Round 1 by Adrian Meronk of Poland and American Kevin Kisner at 14:48 (SA time).

Schwartzel and Potgieter have been paired together along with American Taylor Moore at 17:18 (SA time).

Potgieter is one of seven amateurs in the field.
