In footage that has emerged, and which has since gone viral, a schoolgirl starts a 200-metre race in the United States, but subsequently loses her shoe along the way.
The young girl, Lay Lay, is apparently the daughter of professional boxer Terrence Crawford who has held multiple world championships.

In the video, she takes several seconds to get her shoe back on, before powering around the track, eventually passing her peers to win the event after a remarkable fight back.
Relatives and supporters could be heard going wild as Lay Lay crossed the finish line.
