Finally! The pesky international break is over and it’s time to get back into the madness of the Premier League and our fantasy teams. International breaks come with injuries to our favourite stars but also signs of form for players we might be keeping our eyes on.

Game week 8 kicks off with a real bang as Man United head to Anfield on Saturday early afternoon to take on Liverpool. The other big teams all look to have winnable games so let’s take a closer look.

Latest Fantasy Premier League tips for this weekend

Like we’ve alluded to above, international breaks can be an absolute nightmare for Fantasy managers. Aside from draining fitness and long flights, Liverpool fans and general Fantasy managers alike will be forced to make a transfer after Mane pulled his hamstring. The goalscoring winger is a huge loss for the 10% of managers that have him in their team.

While we’re sure you all already own Romelu Lukaku, its worth noting that he played the last 20 mins of Belgium’s game on Tuesday, yes, he managed to score again. Liverpool’s defence has been a bit of a joke for some time now and with Lukaku on the prowl, we recommend you stay well clear.

Who are the must by bargain players?

The bargain players for this week both come from Watford, yes, we know they have some tough fixtures coming up but midfielders Richarlison (6.1) and Doucoure (5.3) continue to impress.

Richarlison is an impressive Brazilian winger who seems to play well even when he doesn’t score and assist. Doucoure is a holding midfielder but is keeping up a track of scoring every second game. At that price, these two are definitely worth considering.

Fantasy Premier League Tip of the week

Our last tip of the week was to bring in Newcastle’s Matt Ritchie, that hasn’t produced much yet and Ritchie is now a doubt for the upcoming gameweek.

We all know about Man City’s attacking qualities but we have been guilty of underestimating their defensive abilities. Pep Guardiola teams are never known for their defence but City have kept four clean sheets in their last four games. Their defensive record is 2nd best in the league, behind their Manchester rivals.

Our bargain buy for this week is City’s John Stones at 5.6. Stones has cemented himself as a first choice and has formed a good partnership with Ottamendi. The argentine is also an option we would recommend. While Ottamendi and Stones may not be goal or assist threats, they come in far cheaper than City’s Kyle Walker.

Who to sell/avoid before the upcoming gameweek starts?

While we’ve already spoken about getting rid of Mane, another player to stay clear of is Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata. Morata pulled his hamstring in the loss to City and could miss the next two matches if not more. Jamie Vardy would be a good money saving replacement with great fixtures coming up with West Brom, Swansea, Everton and Stoke.

Vardy also has three goals in his last four games so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
