Faf du Plessis and David Miller posted a record 252-run partnership as South Africa grabbed the driving seat in the third ODI against Australia in Hobart on Sunday.

Captain Faf du Plessis and David Miller both smashed centuries as, posting the highest ever stand between Australia and South Africa to guide the visitors to 320/5 in their 50 overs in the third and final ODI in Hobart on Sunday.

The pair pummelled the Aussie bowling attack to all parts in a record 252-run partnership that lasted over 33 overs after getting together with the Proteas in a precarious position at 55-3 after Aiden Markram, the only other batsman to reach double figures, was sent packing by Mitchell Starc for 32.


Miller was the main aggressor, smashing 13 fours and four sixes as he finished with a career-best 139 off 108 balls, while his skipper hit 15 boundaries and two maximums on his way to 125 off 114.

They were particularly severe off the medium pace of Marcus Stionis, who went at ten runs and over, for figures of 2-70 in his seven, while Pat Cummins also got some stick as South Africa scored a staggering 130 runs in the final ten overs.
