Lewis Hamilton topped a Mercedes one-two, as he cruised home to victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, ably supported by teammate Valtteri Bottas in second. The latest F1 results make easy reading for the manufacturers.

Max Verstappen completed the podium with his third-place finish. Fellow Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo wasn’t far behind in fifth, as the drivers were split by Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari.

The race got off to a chaotic start with less than a minute on the clock. Romain Grosjean spun his Haas approaching the corner and ended up clipping the back tyre of Nico Hulkenberg’s Renault. Pierre Gasly of Toro Rosso was also caught up in the crash, as all three drivers were forced to retire.

Kimi Raikkonen was another high-profile casualty in this eventful race. The Finnish speedster had to retire halfway through the race, losing ground on the season’s early pace-setters.

The next race is arguably the most glamorous one on the calendar. The drivers head to Monaco on Sunday 27 May, as the Mercedes drivers look to consolidate a dominant performance in Barcelona.
