Manchester United are in the capital in the Premier League on Monday night to take on out-of-form Crystal Palace.

Jose Mourinho’s side arrive at Selhurst Park right in the mix to finish second behind runaway neighbours Manchester City in the EPL.

The Special One masterminded a narrow win over his old club Chelsea last weekend, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard.

It helped to quell mutterings of discontent around Old Trafford and beyond following an unsatisfactory few weeks.

A shock league defeat at Newcastle was followed up by a distinctly unambitious 0-0 draw at Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg.

Life has been tricky for Crystal Palace following their revival under Roy Hodgson.

An impressive upturn in form has long-since deserted them, as an injury crisis begins to bite.

Five winless games since a home win over Burnley has landed the Eagles almost back where they started under the ex-England manager.

Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal have all claimed three points from the south Londoners in that time.

Harry Kane caused the heartbreak last weekend when he scored late to seal the points for Spurs.

Back-to-back draws with West Ham and Newcastle represent the only points picked up during a tricky spell at the bottom.

Only goal difference separates Palace from the relegation zone ahead of the weekend’s action.

But they will be buoyed by the congested nature of the entire bottom half of the Premier League table.

If they can just break the shackles and sneak a win, their EPL world will seem a much brighter place once more.

Crystal Palace team and injury news

Hodgson remains without ten first team players due to injury, while on-loan Timothy Fosu-Mensah is barred from facing his parent club.

Martin Kelly and Jeffrey Schlupp are at least back in contention to bolster the defence, with new man Diego Cavalieri also now available.

Manchester United team and injury news

Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo join Daley Blind on the sidelines, along with Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.

Fans will have to wait on a puff of white smoke to know if Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to action.
