Liverpool face the biggest test yet of their perfect Premier League record when they go to Chelsea on Saturday night.

The Reds are six from six so far, sitting pretty on their own at the top of the EPL table thanks to their opponents’ slip-up last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side strolled to a 3-0 win over Southampton at Anfield a week ago.

Wesley Hoedt’s own goal and Joel Matip’s second paved the way for Mohamed Salah to prod in the third from close range to maintain their 100 percent record.

It made a mockery of suggestions they would suffer a hangover from their UEFA Champions League exploits against Paris Saint-Germain the previous midweek.

It was also a perfect follow up to impressive 2-1 wins on the road at Tottenham and 2016 champions Leicester.

Chelsea are two points behind both Liverpool and reigning champions Manchester City after their own perfect record went pop at West Ham.

The Blues were held 0-0 in their capital city derby at the London Stadium last Sunday.

They were also fortunate not to slip to defeat, with the Hammers missing an absolute sitter via the head of Andriy Yarmolenko.

Maurizio Sarri’s men had won their previous five on the spin, with Eden Hazard among those clicking into gear following his World Cup exploits in Russia.

Is has, then, still been a cracking start to life in west London for the popular Italian.

Cardiff, Bournemouth and Arsenal have all been seen off at Stamford Bridge, ahead of their date with the league leaders.

Chelsea team and injury news

Antonio Rudiger is ruled out by a groin injury, joining Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the sidelines.

Pedro is also a doubt for the Blues with a shoulder problem.

Liverpool team and injury news

Virgil van Dijk is a major doubt at the back having not trained all week because of a niggle.

Adam Lallana remains in the treatment room, although Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from illness.
