EFC 89: Drama as main-eventer Zulu fails to make weight

There was high drama at the weigh-in for EFC 89 but this time not due to any fighter shenanigans.

Rather, the credibility of the main event for EFC 89 has been thrown into question as one of the contenders for the promotion’s vacant Flyweight Championship failed to make weight.

Zuluboy fails to make weight

The former champion, Nkazimulo ‘Zuluboy’ Zulu missed making weight for his championship fight against Luthando Biko. The fight will go ahead as planned at EFC 89, however only Biko will stand a chance of winning the title, should Zulu come out on top the title will remain vacant.

There was also a big surprise in the Bantamweight division as Zwelibanzi Ngema was forced to pull out of his bout with Gift Walker due to COVID and remarkably South Africa’s Martin Qcinukmondo stepped in on weigh-in day to replace him.
