Eddie Jones: The Springboks are bullies

The Boks haven’t exactly bullied anyone in recent months, but Eddie Jones is not taking the looming clash lightly.

The clash between England and the Springboks at Twickenham is still two months away, but the punches have already been thrown.

England’s coach Eddie Jones has called the South Africans “bullies” and warned his side to brace themselves for a physical encounter when the two teams square off on 12 November.

England have not beaten South Africa since 2006, but with the way the Boks have been playing recently – and Jones’ influence – the English will fancy their chances.

Jones is not taking the meeting lightly, though, and was quoted by the Telegraph as saying:

“We haven’t beaten them since then and you know what they are like, they’re bullies, so that is a task for our first 23-man squad.”

Jones worked with the Boks during the 2007 Rugby World Cup, serving as a technical advisor.
