The four teams to compete for the opportunity to lift the inaugural SA20 trophy were confirmed on Tuesday. The Pretoria Capitals will take on Paarl Royals in the first semi-final at the Wanderers on 8 February, with the Joburg Super Kings facing Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the second semi-final at Centurion on 9 February.

The league matches have delivered action-packed and well-supported cricket in front of capacity crowds across the six venues in the country, bringing it down to only three matches until the 2023 champions are crowned.

Both semi-finals will start at 17h30, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy special promotions including free beer, soft drinks and Wi-Fi along with the pre-match activities which include performances from Shekinah (Wanderers) and GoodLuck (Centurion).

There are reserve days in place for the semi-finals and final in the event that play is interrupted by weather or other causes. Spectators with tickets to the semi-finals and final must retain their tickets in order to have access to the reserve days.

Reserve days

  • Spectators with tickets to the semi-finals and Final must retain their tickets in order to have access to the reserve days.
  • If play is interrupted on the scheduled day, the umpires shall use the available extra time and, if necessary, reduce the number of overs to try to achieve a result on that day.
  • In making their decisions in relation to ground, weather and light, the umpires shall aim to maximise play on the scheduled day of the match in order to achieve a result on that day, as if there was no reserve day available.
  • Each team must have had the opportunity to bat for a minimum of five (5) overs for a result to be achieved. If play has not resumed by the cut-off time required to allow the minimum number of overs to be bowled to achieve a result on the scheduled day, play shall be abandoned for the day and the reserve day shall be used to complete the match.
  • If the reserve day is used to continue an incomplete match the reserve day shall be used as follows:
  • On the reserve day, play shall recommence under the same assumption that the last ball was bowled on the scheduled day.
  • Play will commence at 13:30 on a reserve day.
  • The match starts when the coin toss takes place and teams are exchanged. If the toss occurs on the scheduled day and there is no play thereafter, the result of the toss and the named teams shall be carried through to the reserve day.
  • Please retain your ticket to gain access into the stadium on the reserve day.
