JUST IN: Lungi Ngidi ruled out of New Zealand final Test match

Proteas fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has officially been ruled out of the second and series-deciding Test match against New Zealand.

Proteas fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has officially been ruled out of the second and series-deciding Test match against New Zealand.

The match will take place in Christchurch on Friday at 00:00 SA time.

News coming from the Proteas camp reveal that Ngidi couldn’t recover from a back strain suffered before the two-match series.

NGIDI RULED OUT OF PROTEAS VS NEW ZEALAND TEST DECIDER

Ngidi missed the first Test, and the Proteas were hopeful of having him back for the final Test match against on Friday.

However, Mark Boucher and his team must find an alternative going into this important Test series decider, especially after Glenton Stuurman’s below-par performance in the first Test. 

Stuurman was handed his debut against New Zealand on the day but he struggled and could only card figures of 1/124  which was disappointing.

With Ngidi ruled out completely, the Proteas could look to spinner Keshav Maharaj, Wiaan Mulder and Lutho Sipamla as possible options. 

The Proteas are desperate for a win after being hammered by an innings and 276 runs by New Zealand in the first Test.
