While the series is won, South Africa still have the matter of hauling in the West Indies on the Cricket World Cup Super League to attend to.
Winning the third ODI of this series will move South Africa into eighth place on the league to occupy the final Cricket World Cup qualifying spot.
The five teams who miss out on a spot in the top eight will enter a qualifier tournament including lower ranked associate teams reaching the tournament through a separate qualification stream.

South Africa will have two further opportunities to move ahead of the West Indies when they face the Dutch in March and April, concluding the series that kicked off the CWCSL cycle before a COVID-19 related postponement.
If the Proteas win the final match of the series against England they will clinch their place in the Cricket World Cup.
