The Proteas have been spotted in new apparel sponsor Castore gear, on the day the new sponsorship deal was announced.

On Monday morning both Cricket South Africa (CSA) as well as former Proteas apparel sponsor New Balance announced a parting of ways that would allow for the deal with Castore to come to fruition.
New Balance deal lasted six years
The deal between CSA and New Balance had lasted all of six years and it was decided by both parties that, they would not continue together when it officially expires today (1 October). Although New Balance had stated in their press release that, they were willing to keep supplying the Proteas with kit to help them transition into their new sponsorship with Castore, it looks like they won’t be required to do so.

CSA had already confirmed on Monday morning that it would be announcing the Proteas new apparel sponsor on Thursday, a promise the South African cricket body stuck to, announcing Castore in the morning.
CSA comment on Castore deal
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Castore on board to our (Proteas) team of sponsors and suppliers,” said CSA acting chief executive Pholetsi Moseki.

“Castore is one of the big players in the world of sports technical apparel and they are involved around the world with such diverse sporting codes as Formula 1, cycling, football, athletics and swimming.

“As we all know, most international cricket these days is played on the Asian sub-continent and its surrounding areas where climatic conditions are extremely challenging, and it is important that our players have the most comfortable apparel available to allow them to compete at their optimal level,”

“Castore is a perfect fit for our (Proteas) national teams who all have major ICC events on the immediate horizon. We look forward to a fruitful and happy relationship over the next three years.” Concluded Moseki
