Oops! CSA and SABC made two awkward mistakes for Hashim Amla’s 100th Test

Hashim Amla is pretty awesome. Yesterday, he joined an exclusive club of players who scored a hundred in their hundredth Test. There have been all sorts of things to honour one of South Africa’s finest players, but there have also been a few tiny slip us.

First, take a look at Amla’s Test shirt for this fixture.

Do you notice anything? Go on, take a closer look. Do you see it yet? His shirt says 2016! Now, we know nobody is immune for writing the year that has gone instead of the year it is for the first few weeks of the new year… but come on! This is embroidered and something everyone working on this would have know weeks and weeks ahead of time. How did nobody pick up this little error?

Also note how the team name is suddenly singular “Protea” instead of the usual “Proteas”.

But that’s not all…

The SABC also pulled out this gem…

Now, either Temba Bavuma has been playing in a wormhole of time, scoring loads of runs and growing a beard in the process…. or somebody made another oops.

Fortunately for both, Amla just isn’t the kind of guy to be bothered by these tiny mistakes.
