Markram maintains fifty-over hot streak with Hampshire
Aiden Markram has continued his excellent domestic form as the overseas player for Hampshire notching a hundred at the Rose Bowl on Thursday.

Aiden Markram has provided plenty of justification for his inclusion in the Proteas World Cup squad since touching down in England for a stint as Hampshire’s overseas professional.
Markram left South Africa in early April to take up the assignment not knowing if he would be in the World Cup squad at all but he did himself a great service by smashing a century in the Momentum One-Day Cup final for the Titans, before he left.
Since arriving on the south coast of England Markram has been a consistent performer starting with tidy efforts in four-day cricket, Markram has really found form in the Royal London One-Day Cup, the English list A (50 over) competition.
Markram has been used as both an opener and a number three for Hampshire in the limited overs competition, which will be good preparation for the roles he may be asked to fill for the Proteas at the World Cup.
In his first six innings Markram picked up a respectable 275 runs including two scores of exactly 88 against London-based counties Middlesex and Surrey.
In his seventh knock of the tournament he produced the kind of innings that backs up the suggestion he could be a future Proteas batting legend.
Markram blitzed 130 off just 18 balls including 16 fours and two sixes against Sussex at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Thursday, as Hampshire won a thriller.
The 24-year-old’s form is great news for a Proteas top order that has been struggling for consistent runs of late. Markram opening the batting could take some of the pressure off of Hashim Amla, who has struggled against the new ball in England.
Hampshire are on top of the South section of the RLODC having won six of their seven matches so far. Markram is playing alongside former Proteas Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw who joined the county on Kolpak deals in January 2017.
