Faf du Plessis wears a floppy that will break the internet!
Faf du Plessis shocked the cricketing world when he announced his retirement from the Test arena on Wednesday, 17 February.

Faf du Plessis shocked the cricketing world when he announced his retirement from the Test arena on Wednesday, 17 February.

All told, Faf du Plessis played 69 Tests for South Africa, the first of which came in November 2012 against Australia and the last in February 2021 against Pakistan.
He scored 4 163 runs in Test cricket at an average of 40.02 with a highest score of 199. He scored 10 centuries, 21 fifties and took 63 catches.

Du Plessis will still be available for selection for the ODI and T20I formats, although he made special mention of wishing to focus on the latter going forward.

To celebrate his retirement from the five-day game, Du Plessis took to Instagram to tell his over 1.7 million followers, “Celebrating a test career tonight with the wifey in my new whites and floppy…”

Du Plessis married his wife Imari in November 2013. The couple, who live in Cape Town, have a daughter who was born in mid-2017.
