Cricket South Africa (CSA) has congratulated the Boland Rocks on winning this season’s CSA T20 Challenge.

The CSA T20 Challenge was the first edition that includes the top eight Division 1 teams with Boland Rocks and North West Dragons being the debutants.

All matches were played in a Managed Event Environment (MEE) at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.

CSA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, congratulated the Rocks on their achievement, and wished them well for the rest of the season.

“Congratulations to the Boland Rocks on being crowned champions of the 2021/22 edition of the CSA T20 Challenge,” said Moseki.

“The Rocks have shown great competitiveness throughout the tournament, their approach to every game they played has been compelling to watch and l look forward to seeing them in action for the remainder of the season.

“I would also like to thank Eastern Province Cricket, players and officials and all CSA affiliates and staff who have made this tournament a huge success,” Moseki concluded.

Boland Rocks won by 15 runs

In Sunday’s final, the Rocks won the toss and elected to bat.

They posted 138/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks in main to captain Pieter Malan’s 71 off just 56 deliveries.

The Titans were only able to muster 123/9 in their innings, giving the Boland Rocks victory by 15 runs.

The Rocks took home a cheque of R1 million for triumphing in the tournament.
