Proteas limited-overs captain Quinton de Kock has been nominated for six accolades in the upcoming Cricket South Africa (CSA) Awards.

CSA issued out a list of awards nominations on Friday ahead of the ceremony set to be held via a virtual platform on 4 July 2020.

Having been one of the standout players for the men’s national team in the past season, the wicketkeeper-batsman has been nominated for awards across formats.

Proteas stars up for big awards

He is up against teammates Lungi Ngidi and Temba Bavuma for the Men’s T20 International Cricketer of the Year award, with the fast bowler also in the running for the ODI Cricketer of the Year award alongside Heinrich Klaasen.

For the Test accolade, De Kock is nominated alongside speedsters Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada.

In the women’s categories, all-rounder Marizanne Kapp scored three nominations, as well as one in the Fans’ Cricketer of the Year category, where both men and women are up for the award.

The Women’s Player of the Year award is contested by fast bowler Shabnim Ismail and batting pair Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee, while the men’s version of the prestigious award sees De Kock and David Miller go toe-to-toe.
