The Cricket World Cup in England didn’t quite live up to the billing of an endless string of batting-friendly pitches but there were still plenty of dominant batsmen on show.

Rohit Sharma dazzled with his simply incredible five centuries at the 2019 Cricket World Cup but India would fall in the semi-final. Sharma was pushed all the way in the runscorers charts by Australia’s David Warner. The Australian cut a determined figure in the tournament as he made his return to the international stage. Warner’s efforts fell short of getting Australia into yet another World Cup final.

For World Cup finalists England and New Zealand the run-scoring has been led by steady middle-order men in Joe Root and Kane Williamson.

South Africa‘s leading run-getter, Faf du Plessis, failed to crack the top ten. The ten leading runscorers have all scored more than 400 runs in the tournament, playing between 8 and 11 matches.

Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh and Babar Azam of Pakistan are the only top ten runscorers to come from nations who failed to make the semi-finals.

Note: Stats will be updated after the Cricket World Cup final to reflect any changes.
