Sunday, 16 June episode of Carte Blanche features Australia’s Tasmanian Tiger, which has been extinct for almost 100 years.

A team of Australian scientists is partnering with a US genetic engineering company to bring back the Tasmanian tiger, a marsupial declared extinct nearly a century ago.

This ambitious project aims to have the iconic animal roaming the Tasmanian wilderness again within the next five years, potentially representing a breakthrough in de-extinction technology.

Carte Blanche is a South African investigative journalism television series that airs on M-Net every Sunday at 19:00.
