Erling Haaland was on target again as Manchester City secured a place in the semi-final of the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Citizens drew 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in Germany and secured a 4-1 aggregate win in the quarter-final. They will now clash with title holders Real Madrid in the semis next month.

Despite missing a penalty, Haaland was once again on the score sheet in the 57th minute following a counter-attack from City.

The “Norwegian cyborg” Haaland now has scored 48 goals for Man City in his first season and could reach 60 goals by the end of the season.

Most importantly though, he could be a missing key that the Citizens were looking for to finally lift the Champions League. They came agonisingly close in 2021 but lost out to rivals Chelsea in the final.

City still retains the core of the squad that took them to the final but the difference between then and now is they have a goal-scoring machine in Haaland.

If Haaland remains fit, he might bring the title back to Manchester

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports after the game that he fears fatigue as his team is still on a hunt for a treble.

“We are exhausted. I don’t know how we will recover to play against Sheffield United [in the FA Cup semi-final]. Now is a tough moment for the game on Saturday,” he said.
