BREAKING: Jali and Downs OFFICIALLY part ways

Andile Jali’s agent Mike Makaab has refused to disclose where the midfielder will play his football next season.

The contract between Mamelodi Sundowns and Andile Jali which was due to conclude at the end of the current season, has been terminated by mutual consent.

Sundowns confirmed on Saturday that the former Orlando Pirates midfielder was no longer contracted with the Pretoria giants.

The 33-year-old joined Sundowns as a free agent from Belgian topflight side KV Oostende in July 2018 under then coach Pitso Mosimane.

The former Bafana Bafana international joined Sundowns in June 2018 ahead of the 2018/19 seasons, and has been at Chloorkop for five (5) campaigns. During his stay at Sundowns, the midfielder played 142 matches and has been crowned a champion five (5) times, making him one of the most decorated players in the PSL.

The influential player was part of two domestic treble winning Sundowns teams and achieved the same feat before he joined the Club.

“We thank Andile(Jali) for his contribution and wish him well for the future. The Club and it’s supporters will fondly remember his performances for Ka Bo Yellow,” the club said in a statement.

This week, his agent Mike Makaab reportedly confirmed his exit.

“I know that Sundowns are very appreciative of the value that Andile has brought to the club and he is too of the way he was welcomed. He wore the captain’s armband, which is one of the great achievements. There’s absolutely nothing else other than purely technical reasons,” Makaab was quoted by SABC Sport.

Makaab however refused to disclose where Jali will play his football next season.
