According to Boxing Social, Skills Challenge Entertainment are out to stage the historic fight in Saudi Arabia in December, on the same card as Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua.

Fury promoter Arum admitted negotiations have slowed, but shared his belief that the fight would happen one way or another.

“Talks aren’t progressed, but there is time for the talks to be happening. I hope, particularly since throwing out all this money, that the double header does take place,” Arum told Boxing News.

“But I have no idea at all whether it’s realistic. It may or may not be realistic.”

“The money that the Saudis would allegedly put up for that fight far exceed the money that the fighters could earn anywhere else in the world.”

“Whether it happens that they put it up and the fight takes place, or they don’t put it up and the fighter’s will have to maximise the revenue, that will determine where the fight takes place.”

“So we’ll have to see.”

The negotiations between the parties have been fractious at best and there is even the suggestion that Fury might grant Anthony Joshua a title shot before he agrees to a take on Usyk.

A legacy-defining fight between Fury and Usyk was promised repeatedly for months, but problems with purse splits and potential rematch clauses proved to be too much to bear, leaving the boxing public around the world with a bitter taste in their mouths.
