Baroka suffered their first league defeat over the weekend, and no player in their camp was more visibly frustrated than goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini.

In their Limpopo derby clash against Polokwane City, Bakgakga fell to a 2-0 loss and, as the match was drawing to a close, one unfortunate ball boy would know exactly how unwelcome the looming defeat was to the visitors on the day.

While the clock was running down, Dlamini lashed out at the ball boy behind his goal posts as he grabbed the match ball and aimed in his direction.

Baroka to take action against keeper

In his first season as the first-choice shot-stopper, the 26-year-old was not the first Baroka goalie to rise to fame via a viral video, but this time around, the club didn’t take too kindly to his actions with CEO Morgan Mammila telling KickOff that they will take action after the incident.

“You know you must not leave professionalism at home when you go out. You must carry it wherever you go. Surely the team is not happy with that and we will deal with him,” Mammila said.

“He said he was frustrated because the boy was playing him, he was not giving him the ball as quick as he can. But remember these ball boys are being taught by their home teams obviously. But you must remain professional you know at all times. No matter whether you lose or you win. Whatever that you do, you are doing it for the badge of Baroka FC.”

Ayanda Dlamini has since apologised for his actions, promising that he will not do such a thing again.
