Arsenal’s three quick goals in the first half were enough to see off rivals Chelsea on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium.

Following their 3-1 win, Mikel Arteta’s men are back to the top of the Premier League, two points clear of second place Manchester City.

Martin Odegaard’s double in the first half an hour of the match sent the Emirates crowd wild before Gabriel Jesus added a third to put more misery on the Blues.

On the back of a heavy defeat against Manchester City, Arsenal produced a superb first-half showing against the struggling Chelsea side that had no answers to the Gunner’s ruthless approach.

Arsenal played like a team that has led the English Premier League for over 200 days with their slick passing and quick movements.

For most of the first half, Chelsea were found wanting

The Blues though did get back into the game after half-time.

Noni Madueke did give the Arsenal a slight scare when he pulled one back midway through the second half but Chelsea’s attack looked toothless and never really troubled much.

Madueke’s goal took the sting out of Arsenal’s attacking play and the tempo of the game dropped.

Odegaard saw his effort parried at the near post as he hunted his hat-trick, but his two goals in the opening half-hour had paved the way for the home side’s first win in five matches.

Arteta’s side though, don’t have fade in their own hands as rivals City still have two more games to play despite trailing by two points.
