AmaZulu could spoil Pirates’ party

Previously AmaZulu lacked in attack but lately, they have been scoring goals which can be a problem for Pirates’ shaky defence.

AmaZulu are going into their last match of the DStv Premiership with nothing to lose having survived the relegation battle.

They host Orlando Pirates this Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium knowing that a win could elevate them to 10th.

The pressure though is on Pirates as they are looking to retain second place.

A win for them will see them secore second place ahead of SuperSport United but Usuthu won’t make it easy for them

AmaZulu have played beautiful football since Ayanda Dlamini took over with six matches to go.

He won one, drew two and lost twice.

“It’s not the first time working with them, I can get into their heads and motivate them very easily,” Dlamini said.

“It was all about motivating and designing training sessions suitable for them to make sure that everything they are training, they enjoy. Everything they do in training is prepared for the game, and they understand what the approach is.

“Most of the time, we were very defensive, but now you can see the change. The way we attack, yes, we’re conceding goals, but we are still solid at the back,” the former AmaZulu striker continued.

Dlamini said previously the team lacked in attack but lately, they have been scoring goals which can be a problem for Pirates.

“But I think the attacking mindset was lacking before. That’s what I introduced to make sure that we attack with more numbers also and not sit at the back.

“That’s why we came back against Sundowns like this because you could see the numbers in the box every time we put the ball in the box,” the former Usuthu academy coach added.
