Six people were attacked by a swarm of bees after disturbing a hive while mowing a lawn in Ballito, KZN on Thursday morning.

A bee attack resulted in critical injuries on Thursday morning, 6 January. The incident took place in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said six people were stung by a swarm of bees on Thursday.
IPSS Advanced Life Support paramedics, along with Lenmed, arrived at the scene at determined that the workers were mowing a lawn when they disturbed a beehive.
“A total of six people were stung with two of them being critical and requiring advanced life support intervention,” said Herbst.
The emergency responders are stabilising the patients at the scene before transporting them to a hospital for further care.
