Fury after AfriForum only lays charges against black on white racists, not one white person charged

The organisation does not do its image any favours.

Ahh AfriForum, MANY South Africans could easily think of a good few choice words to use when describing your uhm… “Civil rights” work. At least you are somewhat honest when describing yourself on your website. You certainly do have a “specific focus on the rights of Afrikaners.”

Having a focus is fine, the problem is what you continuously ignore and the way you ignore it.

AfriForum laid 100 criminal charges on Thursday morning, all relating to social media accounts that spewed racism or hate speech. The organisation spent months taking screenshots of such posts and that’s great.

The problems come when you take a look at WHO made it onto the list in terms of the 100 being charged for their racism. Out of the 100 names, not even one is white. All of the cases of “racism” are black on white. Yes, many of the posts are vile and should be condemned but that’s been obvious from the get-go.

With white on black racism still occurring on a weekly daily basis, it is simply ludicrous to hear that AfriForum couldn’t find or didn’t want to expose any. The organisation have been grilled on such allegations before. Ernst Roets, AfriForum Deputy CEO, has previously said on eNCA that the organisation condemns whites being racist just as strongly as when blacks are racist.

With these 100 charges, it is clear that that is simply not true. Don’t believe our rant? Check out what these South Africans had to say.

With this list of “racists,” AfriForum had a chance to improve their reputation and show the country that they were against all kinds of racism and hate speech. Instead, they chose, once again, to confirm their status as a disgraceful one-sided racial party.
