DA MP shares post asking for PW Botha to comeback… says she didn’t read the whole thing

Lesson number one of the internet, folks: read the whole thing before sharing or commenting.

You know how people comment on things on the internet without actually reading? Dianne Kohler-Barnard, the woman who says SA’s murder stats are as bad as a country at war, got a first hand taste of why it’s best to read before sharing things all willy nilly.

Kohler-Barnard apologised and said that she “did not read the second part of the post”. The sharing of the post happened a few weeks ago (in middle September, but surfaced on Twitter only yesterday).

Kohler-Barnard was quoted by EWN as saying: “They absolutely should be criticising me for sharing it. I unfortunately didn’t read the whole thing through.  When it was pointed out to me, I deleted it immediately and now some weeks later someone has chosen to share it on Twitter and I have apologised again for having shared it on Facebook.”

Current DA leader, Mmusi Maimane‚ and former leader Helen Zille both took to Twitter to say that the post was indefensible.
