Never one too miss an opportunity to attack anyone who dares speak out against his dad or the ANC he’s created, Eddie’s made some pretty scathing comments about former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

Speaking to the Cape Town Press Club on Monday, Madonsela weighed in on the currrent dialogue surrounding the ANC’s succession debate, both confirming that she would not consider a career in politics and giving her opinion on who should — or shouldn’t — be president.

“I am neither qualified to be president nor interested in that job,” Madonsela said.

“Should he be a male, should she be a female… I would love it to be a female but I would hate to have a female that is a proxy, because that would be worse than having a man,” she said, which clearly got under Edward’s skin, as the president’s oldest quickly responded.

It is either she decides to be a politician full time or just shut up,” Zuma said, adding that Madonsela’s remark offended him.

“She was addressing a white dominated gathering in Cape Town, she is a proxy herself.”

“My interest is the ANC, clearly the female candidate is known, it is Nkosazana, we all know that. Obviously if she says she does not want a president who is a proxy, she is referring to her, whose proxy is Nkosazana?” Perhaps Eddie’s not heard, but Baleka Mbete has also thrown her name into the hat.
