Jacob Zuma

Zuma might finally get his day in court… if the DA gets its way

Way back before Zuma became president, he was the great Thabo Mbeki’s deputy. Then, for reasons well-known he was charged with – among other things – corruption. Lucky for him, there were those who saw him as useful and so they saved his *ss.

Jacob Zuma

Right, so now the DA wants JZ to stand trial for the corruption charges that were dropped against him just before he became el presidente. The ANC, of course, want to protect him – read: their feather-lined nests – at all costs and so they put their pit bulls, the NPA to work.

All this started when the DA got Zuma’s spy tapes to be released to them… these little guys contain load of content ranging from internal memos to secret meetings and minutes from within government… you can see why Zuma didn’t want this to come to light.

Now, the NPA doesn’t exactly have a very good track record when it comes to judicial success, but for some reason they’ve managed to shelter Zuma from justice for a very long time.

Velekhaya Mgobhozi, NPA spokesperson, indicated that they know about the DA filing against Zuma and that they will oppose it. This means that, should the DA’s lawyers succeed against the NPA… corruption charges against Zuma can be reopened and he’ll get his day in court.

It would seem as if the bloodhounds are getting closer and closer to Nkandla… Mr President.
