No chill here.

Grace Mugabe just can’t catch a break. Hot on the heels of the Zimbabwean journalist’s story about how she was allegedly quite partial to shouting at people in a hotel lobby,  Zimbabwe’s war veterans leader, Chris Mutsvangwa, has joined the chorus of people roasting her to hell and back.

In a report in The New Zimbabwe, a tabloid rag in Zim, Mutsvangwa calls her a “mad woman with no brains”.

He also went on by saying:

“She (Grace) just used a marriage certificate to get her cohorts at State House to start running this government. I saw it in cabinet.”

He also insisted that the military takeover, which saw Robert Mugabe ousted after 37-years in charge, was not a coup… and then calls it a “counter-coup”.

“The coup was carried out by Grace when her senior husband was losing his faculties and sleeping all the time.”

Shame, it must have been tough for Bob under house arrest, when he apparently didn’t sleep much at all.

Mugabe resigned as president of the country following a military takeover in which soldiers said they were not targeting him, but ‘criminals around him’.

The Mugabes have reportedly negotiated immunity from prosecution.

Last week, the country’s new president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, opened a three-month amnesty window for the return of stolen funds.

The amnesty period began on 1 December and will run on to early next year. Those who fail to comply face arrest and prosecution upon expiry of the amnesty in February, said Mnangagwa in a public statement.

Prior to the military takeover, Mnangagwa was fired from his job as vice-president. It was reported that this move was viewed as a way for Grace to position herself as his successor and, eventually, as successor to her husband.
