Zenzele residents protests for better service delivery

Residents of Zenzele issued a statement with demands which highlighted the need for the formalisation and electrification in the area.

Zenzele residents took to the streets this week and marched to the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) building for better service delivery.

FORMALISATION OF ZENZELE

Zenzele resident Hamilton Sathekgi said they are fed up of with being put on the back burner, as reported by Herald.

“We are here today to raise our frustration with the municipality for their lack of service delivery. We feel as though we are not being prioritised as the people of Zenzele.”

He said that the main issue is the formalisation of Zenzele. “We believe that once this is done, we can be able to get some sort of assistance from them.”

They are also requesting a mobile clinic and a mobile primary school. Also on the list of demands is to have tar roads in the area.

MEMO OF DEMANDS ACCEPTED BY MMC MEMBER

Member of the Mayoral Committee, Nontombi Molatlhegi signed the memorandum on behalf of the Municipality’s Mayor, Gladys Khoza.

The memorandum included the need for the formalisation and electrification of the area. In addition to seeking a mobile clinic that will be easily accessible, as well as mobile classrooms for learners in the area.
