Yu-Gi-Oh! might be a television show that many younger South Africans remember. If the phrase ‘Let’s Duel!’ means anything to you, then the show might bring up a lot of nostalgia (and sure, some schoolyard rivalries about who has the best cards!).

Do you have fond memories of cards like Blue-Eyes White Dragon?

The good news: the game Duel Monsters is still popular everywhere.

Here’s where you can still play this great, nostalgic game against real players from all over the world.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Remember the Show?

Yu-Gi-Oh! Is a show all about cards.

Well, technically it’s about a card game – where people duel against other players, with these cards, for points.

Cards have attack and defense values, measured in numbers: they’re put against other cards with attack and defense values. Oh, there’s also something called a trap card – and spell cards, which change the effect of certain monsters.

But did you know the game from the show can stil be played online?

Dueling Nexus lets you play against real players, with the same cards from the show and rest of the series.

The game plays in-browser, so you don’t have to download anything.

There’s also has a blog where you can learn about cards and decks.

More places to play

There are more options, like the series including Power of Chaos for PC and Playstation.

Other options include YGoPro, which can be installed on most computers. Decks can be ‘imported’ from other programs, so that your selection of dueling cards stays close.
