Northern Territory Police in Australia said they are continuing to investigate after a vehicle crashed into a business in Coconut Grove on 23 September.

At approximately 17:00 (Australian time), the Toyota Hilux was seen driving from McMilians Road towards Darwin City – the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory. The driver allegedly lost control of the bakkie after failing to negotiate a turn and careened across seven lanes of traffic before crashing into a business along Bagot Road.

The two passengers of the Hilux bakkie – a woman driver and a young child – were taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

“It is incredibly lucky no one else was injured in this incident,” said Northern Territory Police Superintendent Daniel Shean. “Drivers are reminded to always drive with due care and attention.”
